Minimum requirements include:

  • Three years receptionist experience in a medical setting
  • One year experience in CHCS/AHLTA computer experience

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with VA is required, whether as a VA employee or with another VA contractor.
  • You must be able to pass an initial entrance exam and code at a minimum of 95% accuracy.
  • Preference will be given to those candidates who meet the qualifications below and have an active Background Investigation, PIV Card, eToken, and Master or Multi-farm CAG Account.
  • Able to code multi-specialty Outpatient, Radiology, and Ancillary encounters in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Proficiency and extensive experience in E/M coding
  • Able to commit to coding a minimum of 200 OP encounters per week
  • Expert knowledge of CPT and ICD-10
  • At least two (2) years of VA or other relevant coding experience, either as a VA employee or with another Government contractor supporting VA – Recent DoD experience (last 6 months) is acceptable in lieu of VA coding experience provided you meet the E/M coding requirements listed above
  • Active credentials as a certified coder from AAPC or AHIMA (CCS, CCS-P, etc.) and completion of all requirements to maintain active credentials
  • Ability to follow site-specific coding guidelines as well as VHA National Coding Guidelines; Familiar with E/M calculator and ability to use this tool proficiently
  • Formal training in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pathology and disease processes, pharmacology, health record format and content, reimbursement methodologies and conventions, rules and guidelines for current classification systems (ICD, CPT, HCPCS)
  • Ability to accurately perform the full scope of OP multi-specialty coding including minor surgical procedures, pathology, diagnostic studies and procedures, physical and occupational therapy and all outpatient setting encounters; Skill in interpreting and applying health information guidelines; and good judgment in completing assignments.
  • Able to complete assigned work within required turnaround times

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Contract Administration, Project Management and/or Program Management with the Federal Government
  • Strong communication skills – oral and writing
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Experience with analyzing and managing budget and costs
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Strong attention to detail and strong organization skills
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry
  • Experience managing staff
  • Knowledge of Medical Coding very helpful

  • Ability to work in an autonomous environment Duties

 

Duties:

  • Program Manager will have responsibility over all Axiom Medical Coding contracts held with the Department of Veterans Affairs, along with support staff.
  • Manage and oversee over 30 medical coding contracts including Blanket Purchase Agreements, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity, Task Orders, and standard contracts
  • Track monthly billing against funding and work with Coding Managers and sites to allocate additional funding as needed
  • Monitor subcontractors to ensure production and turn-around time (TAT) is met; review production reports; hold weekly or bi-weekly management meetings
  • Ensure audits, Weekly Reports, and Monthly Reports are accurate, professional, and submitted to all sites on time
  • Administer contracts and subcontracts including renewals and modifications
  • Attend Weekly and Monthly client calls
  • Act as backup for Coding Managers
  • Support Coding Managers and subcontractors for any issues that may be difficult to address
  • Provide reports to Executive Team as needed
  • Arbitrate audit disagreements
  • Identify growth opportunities and develop proposals for RFPs
  • Follow-up with clients on late payments
  • Review and submit Quarterly report to National Health Information Management Services (HIMS) BPA staff
  • Manage Coding Managers and Administrative support staff
  • Monitor project expenses and ensure profitability
  • Manage subcontractors
  • Manage work split between and Axiom and subcontractors
  • Support recruitment and staffing needs
  • Support access process
  • Ensure invoice data is submitted to Accounting promptly, client invoices are sent to clients promptly, and follow up to facilitate quick payment
  • Hold weekly team status call

General requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related technical discipline
  • Seven years of progressively responsible experience, experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of educational requirements
  • Industry certification in implementing and maintaining production enterprise systems, UNIX/LINUX, or MCSE strongly preferred
  • Experience in utilizing operating system utilities, configuring hardware, using various backup utilities, performing operating system tuning (kernel), managing clustering and high-availability environments, and writing and executing scripts
  • A working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols and network design
  • Be able to develop and manage project plans for multiple high-profile projects

General requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • Ten years of technology related management experience with diversified technical experience in the development of information technology policies and programs as it relates to: computer applications, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, database administration, data/information planning and processing, and/or user service or area networks
  • Five years of professional and leadership experience in the management of technology department/division or staff for a large organization with increasing responsibility and number of direct reports
  • Certifications in A+ Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Cisco and Firewall preferred
  • Knowledge of current practices and technologies in technology infrastructure, including network administration, complex corporate-type networks, cyber security systems administration, and monitoring tools such as Cisco Switches/Routers/Firewalls, Network and VoIP Design and Security, SolarWinds and Cisco Prime, and SIEM solutions
  • Knowledge of systems and server administration, server virtualization, storage virtualization, and technical client services administration including Microsoft Server technologies, Active Directory environment, knowledge of NAS, CIFS, DFS and iSCSI storage environments, along with knowledge of Unix-based technologies such as Redhat, or other Linux equivalent
